Updated Saturday, July 19. In what is perhaps the most violent summer in Natomas history, two MORE violent crimes have been reported by Natomas victims, both committed early yesterday morning. These were not gleaned from a police email, these were reported by the Sacramento Bee this evening (thank you Sacramento Bee).

Remember the Bee’s article in the days leading up to the primary mayoral election? “Crime fight: Who’s got it right, Johnson or Fargo?” Reporter Ryan Lillis started his Fargo-biased article off with “To hear Kevin Johnson tell it, Sacramento is a violent place.” He also quoted Fargo as saying “Citizens should feel safe..” [...]

Hopefully Mayor Fargo’s meeting tonight at the Homecoming condoplex with Natomas residents  will be more encouraging than the one shown here, videotaped by youths in nearby Kokomo Park and uploaded to youtube.com in the past year.

The good news is that Sac PD is out in force in Natomas where they are clearly needed, and responding to calls in record time as this report reflects. It only took them 3 minutes to get to Natomas Park Place (where the Jamba Juice robbery I reported about last week took place) to field [...]

The Bee ran another article on area crime today, this time on the number of cops allotted to each neighborhood, and how Natomas is clearly getting the short end of the night stick. Too bad it took a rash of violent crimes to awake them from their slumber. I just wish the Bee would have [...]
