Johnson camp says Fargo “playing politics” with city manager Ray Kerridge, but who’s REALLY playing political poker?

By Joe • Aug 19th, 2008 | Bookmark and Share

heather fargo ray kerridgeSo apparently there was a surprise agenda item for a closed door city council meeting this evening. Evidently Queen Fargo decided a review of city Manager Ray Kerridge’s performance was in order. A “performance appraisal” they call it.  Eeeyoo don’t you HATE performance appraisals–especially when they don’t come with raises?

The Bee ran something about it today and in the article councilman and KJ supporter Robbie Waters grumbled, “I’m not aware of any problems with the city manager….I think he’s done…

ray and heatherNote: Please see the end of this article for Joe Sac’s first contest! Yes, there are prizes! Seriously!

From the City of Sacramento web site of Ray Tretheway:

“Welcome to my web page! It is an honor to serve as your Sacramento City Council representative for Alkali Flat, Downtown, Richards Boulevard, South Natomas, North Gate, and North Natomas. Ed note: Ironic that North Natomas is LAST? “..and North Natomas.” How utterly revealing.

“While serving on the Sacramento City Council I am concentrating…

Evidently the buck (or bus) don’t stop at Sacramento City Hall on Fargo’s watch

By Joe • Jun 25th, 2008 | Bookmark and Share

sacramento utilites tossed under bus by city of sacKCRA reports today that our Sacramento City Council is “irritated” with the Utilities department over the results of a recently completed audit that exposed potential mismanagement there, as well as other improprieties such as $1,000,000 worth of missing water meters.

In fact the council is so angry with the mean ol’ utilities department, says KCRA, that they have evidently decided to :gulp: postpone a planned water rate increase! [Nooooo! Please don't postpone the rate increase!]

The casual reader might take this story at…

Heather vs. Heather: Political pitbull, sincere public servant.. or neither?

By Joe • Jun 7th, 2008 | Bookmark and Share

Circle the real heather fargo In the movie Heathers, about an evil clique of three high school girls named Heather, one angry student famously asks the lead Heather: “What is your damage, Heather?!”

I remember wondering the same thing as I watched the movie for the first time. Out on the front porch, the Heathers seemed so docile, sweet and innocent; but in the backyard out of view they cultivated a garden of contempt, intimidation, and jealousy that would inevitably spiral out of control, and lead…

11 Questions for Mayor Fargo: Still UNANSWERED

By Joe • Jun 2nd, 2008 | Bookmark and Share

Last chance, Heather… I even dropped one to give you some elbow room…

Mayor Fargo, (hfargo@cityofsacramento.org)

1. Are you collecting the $550 per month mayoral car allowance? If so, are you using a vehicle for official business, and how many driving miles have you personally logged in the past two years?

The infamous, knee-jerkin’, unfiltered, stream-of-consciousness rant about Sacramento crime

THE NOW INFAMOUS, KNEE-JERKIN’, UNFILTERED, STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS RANT

PLONK

Fine! Let’s change the game. Let’ just start saying MANY NEIGHBORHOODS aren’t safe instead of generalizing and saying Sacramento is not safe. This tit-for-tat thing is getting RIDICULOUS..

The local newspaper here wrote yet another fantastically pro Heather Fargo piece targeting mayoral candidate Kevin Johnson’s so-called inflated claims about rising crime in Sacramento. The piece starts out with a lead line that sounds as if it were mined from a Heather “Not-on-my-watch” Fargo speech:

“To hear…

Rejected! Sacramento police will not re-open investigation of ex NBA all star Johnson

By Joe • May 28th, 2008 | Bookmark and Share

In defiance of Sacramento Mayor Heather Fargo’s  wishes, Sacramento Police Chief Rick Braziel announced today he will NOT re-open a 16 year old young woman’s [retracted] “groping” allegation against Fargo’s arch political nemesis, former Phoenix Sun all star, Kevin Johnson.

A former teacher at Johnson’s St. Hope Charter High School had alleged in 2007 that the teen told him (during a camping field trip in Yosemite) that Johnson had touched her breast. When the young lady was questioned by police, she retracted her…

Hatchet job or Hatch Act? Sacramento Mayor Fargo may have broken federal law

By Joe • May 27th, 2008 | Bookmark and Share

Hatch Act 1939 Laws Against Abusing OfficeOn May 22, 1992, Mr. Johnny Carson appeared on the tonight show for the last time. Exactly sixteen years later, on May 22, 2008, Heather Fargo may have held her last performance as well. That was the day our entitlement-minded mayor announced from our city hall building that she was demanding the Sacramento police department redirect resources from investigating real crimes to investigating her opponent, Kevin Johnson. Her reasoning? If a crime had been committed on “her watch,” she was obligated…
