to wikileaks.com was arrested today on espionage related charges. Viewer discretion advised.

Bad health bill for country with bad bill of health

“Yes we can”? Once again, I ask who the $#%@ is “WE” Mr. President? Strange, Obama said he was going to unite Americans, yet all he does is continue to divide them as this image shows.

Dems say they have enough votes to pass health care legislation. All polls show the vast majority of Americans are against this legislation, even though it’s safe to say most have no clue whatis actually in the bill, and how it will impact their lives. All people know is that the government shouldn’t be meddling in American commerce (unless for oversight). Most people with common sense know that—ah, except for the people elected to represent us in DC.

Miraculously, even as voters threaten to boot their representatives, delusional politicians like John Larson are saying things like “But it isn’t about how many members are going to lose their seat … It’s about this moment, it’s about the truth, it’s every reason why you were elected to come and serve in congress..”

Geez. How much more euphoric can one be than explicitly stating they are wrapped up in this very moment and not considering the future whatsoever? Wow. And to say this is the reason he was elected to congress? When the majority of his constituents are against what he is doing? Better check this man’s prescription dosage..

If you ask me these politicians have hijacked our government. They are NOT representing the people by passing this bill. In fact they are in opposition to the people. What Americans want is oversight, regulation, and accountability. We want controls in place that won’t allow hospitals to charge $26,000 for a three day stay and a few tests (which is what I was billed several months ago when I was hospitalized). We don’t want dental companies to charge us a $150 per month then still have the brass to also charge us a $50 co-pay when we go in for a check-up. We don’t want insurers to be able to turn us away or jack our rates up 500% because we had a back surgery seven years ago. We just want some accountability! Right?

Then again, would we even have a health care problem if everyone ate healthy and exercised daily? How much of this problem have we Americans brought on ourselves? Could the health care monster even have grown into its current king kong size had we only needed it to serve terminal disease, chickenpox, the elderly, broken bones, pediatrics, and nasty flu strains? Would we even be having this debate if half of us weren’t obese? Or smokers? Sugar fanatics? Couch potatoes? Stress cases? Addicts? Alcoholics? Is it possible that WE created the monster that now threatens the future of the country?

Hence, if it is in fact true that Americans are responsible for the nightmare we call “health care,” then aren’t the delusional politicians in DC (including Obama) nothing more than ENABLERS??? How is Obama’s reaction to the health care crisis any different than a parent who continues to allow a child to wear a t-shirt to school in the middle of the winter even after he has been diagnosed with pneumonia? I submit that Obama and all the politicians who are bent on passing health care are doing far more damage to citizens than good. And the astonishing thing is, they actually believe they are heroes.

Ohio man decides to teach bank lesson, bulldozes foreclosed home

A Ohio man named Terry Hoskins BULLDOZED his $350k home after the bank started foreclosure proceedings on it (and his small business failed). According to Hoskins, he wanted to teach the bank a lesson. “When I owe $160,000 on a home valued at $350,000, and someone decides they want to take it – no, I wasn’t going to stand for that, so I took it down.” I have said it before and I will say it again: revolution is right around the corner if the economic situation continues to deteriorate in this country. While the rich are getting richer, the middle class is disappearing and the poor are getting poorer. The government continues to enact legislation intended to penalize the lower and middle classes, and bank shareholders are bound determined to suck both classes dry to finance their multi-million dollar homes, yachts, and retirements. The corporate opportunism in this country is despicable.

While I can’t side with anyone who destroys property or harms people to get their message across, I understand where their frustrations and desparate measures are coming from–especially small business owners who continue to be elbowed out of the American dream by corporate greed.

I recently read that nearly 20% of Americans are “angry” with the current state of of the country. One way or the other, change is coming.. and I have a funny feeling it’s not going to be the kind of change Obama promised.

No word on whether Hoskins will be arrested..?

Good news for some: vacant housing soars, pending sales flat

From BI: “The shadow inventory (vacant units but held off the market “for other reasons”) — rose 3.497 million units from 3.403 million. Fully 13.4% of the housing stock is currently vacant and that degree of excess capacity is very likely going to exert ongoing downward pressure on residential rents and precipitate another downleg to housing prices.”

Home prices to dive 10% this year?
Also from another related article: “The rise in the second half of 2009 was mainly the result of pent-up demand combined with a tax-break, subsidized mortgage rates, and other incentives. The housing market is still awash in excess inventory, and Alpert says this will eventually drive prices down to 8%-10% below the lows of early last year.”
