“State of the City” is a misnomer. The mayor’s address today is more like the “State of Business” address given to Chamber of Commerce members and others who were willing to pay the admission fee. The mayor should hold an actual State of the City address at a large venue such as the Memorial theater and/or Community Center and/or Caesar Chavez Park (spring) that is open (and free!) to the public.”
