A few friends and I came across some fun facts about Apple recently in the course of some research. I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but I can not resist at least entertaining some of the strange things that have come out of the apple orchard.
To start, conspirators have referred to Bill Gates as the anti Christ for many years now. I never even thought twice about it because all they can come up with is some clever number crunching to show his name and other info come out to 666 somehow. They’re essentially playing records backwards, and the evidence to support such a ridiculous theory is weak at best.Factor in Gates’ BILLIONS in charitable contributions and it’s a hard sell.
Enter Steve Jobs. He and his Apple brand have been the antithesis of Gates and Microsoft over the years. They have presented theirs as a highly user friendly, virus free operating system, and won over the arts community with their support for music production, photography, film, et al. and quirky approach to advertising. . not to mention their success with iPod and now iPhone. Their stark white and silver computers have been clean and sleek, and mirrored the images of their blinding white stores.
But under all that blinding light, is there something a bit more darker? As in: Mwooooo hoo hoo ha ha!
1. The first Apple Mac sold for $666 (this is a fact, Jobs has only said it was a pure coincidence).
2. The first Apple logo (view here
) depicts Isaac Newton sitting under a tree with a single, glowing apple hanging over his head.. reading a BOOK. Does the tree represent the Garden of Eden teaching in the Bible (where mankind is tempted to eat an apple from the tree of knowledge), OR does it depict the apple tree that Newton himself said inspired him to formulate his theory of gravitation…”by watching the fall of an apple from a tree…”? If the latter, why only one apple, and a glowing one at that?
3. Apple rolled out two MAJOR product lines on dates consistent with 6’s: 6/6/06 and 9/9/09.
4. Steve Jobs always wears black. ![]()
5. The second Apple logo was a rainbow-colored image of an apple, this time with a bite taken out of it (I am told this is not a rainbow, but a PRISM, which symbolizes “the separation of lightness”); the third Apple logo was silver (like coins), and the most recent Apple logo is BLACK (like all Steve’s shirts)
6. All Apple stores are painted stark white and are lit up so bright one gets the feeling of overkill. The ONLY area of the store that is not white is the counter, where the greed money manifests. It is jet BLACK.
7. Nearly every Apple product is focused on the idea of PERSONAL possession and start with an “i” … iPhone… iPod.. and all these products fall under the umbrella of iLIFE! Focus on self is the anti God state of mind in many religions, particularly in Christianity (in fact Jesus even said, “those who are last, will be first’”).
8. iPods are anti social and draw people inward rather than turn them outward. It’s hard to even talk to young people now because they’re all enveloped in their iLife listening to their iMusic or watching their iVideos they bought from their iStore. Me, me, me, me.. the total Anti God state of mind.
9. Apple has announced it will no longer take CASH for its products…which pushes our society further into a state where it might some day be impossible to buy something anonymously.. and lead to the very condition prophesied in the Bible’s Revelations whereby each citizen would have to be branded with a unique ID somehow to prevent fraud.. ““Anyone not worshiping the Beast would be killed. It forced all people, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to have a mark on the right hand or forehead. Without the mark of the name of the Beast or the number of its name, it was impossible to buy or sell anything…” Revelation 13: 15-17
10. Apple touts its MacBook computer line is the crowned king of personal computing. Coincidence it uses the word “Book,” or a conscious effort to steer people away from books… especially the Bible?
11. Bonus round: Steve Jobs goes by the secular “Steve” instead of his birth name “Steven” (which his step-parents clearly named him after the Christian martyr Steven since his whole name is Steven Paul Jobs. Actually Job is a book in the Old Testament, too).
Though these points might be intriguing, and highly coincidental, I don’t believe they prove any conspiracy theories about Apple or its top dog Steve Jobs. And while I think it’s wrong to mock any religious document such as the Bible (if that is what Jobs and company have done), I think it’s safe to say that while they might be “genius,” they’re not smart enough to be “the enemy” as some people have claimed. The enemy is far more cunning.. although its possible those ingenious folks at Apple are on his All Star team.

WOW. Is that really their original logo, Joe? If it weren’t for that logo I’d say you were way off base, but if that logo is real it’s obvious they named the company after the biblical reference and the 666’s and other stuff seem to at least support a theory that they could be mocking the Bible. If they are mocking the Bible I would think a major boycott could happen.
Weirdest thing ever thought. I never even thought about the nature of their logo until I read your article.
Thanks for sharing this. At a minimum it is as you said very intriguing
Hi Grayson. Yes that is their real, original logo. Here it is:
Like I said, I’m not into conspiracy theories but I have to say this makes me not want to buy their products if they’re mocking religion.
Anyone know if Jobs has ever made a statement on the logo, or been challenged to discuss it?
From Wikipedia- with sources sited:
Apple’s first logo, designed by Jobs and Wayne, depicts Sir Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree. Almost immediately, though, this was replaced by Rob Janoff’s “rainbow Apple”, the now-familiar rainbow-colored silhouette of an apple with a bite taken out of it. Janoff presented Jobs with several different monochromatic themes for the “bitten” logo, and Jobs immediately took a liking to it. While Jobs liked the logo, he insisted it be in color, as a way to humanize the company.[122][123]
The original hand drawn logo features Sir Isaac Newton, and one theory states that the symbol makes reference to his discoveries of gravity (the apple) and the separation of light by prisms (the colors). Another explanation exists that the bitten apple pays homage to the mathematician Alan Turing, who committed suicide by eating an apple he had laced with cyanide.[124] Turing is regarded as one of the fathers of the computer. The rainbow colors of the logo were rumored to be a reference to the rainbow flag, as a homage to Turing’s homosexuality.[125]
However, Rob Janoff stated in an interview that the alternate theories are all wonderful urban legends, but, unfortunately, “B.S.” The Apple logo was designed with a bite for scale, so that people would recognise that it was an apple, not a cherry, and the rainbow color was not a coded reference to homosexuality or prism light, but was conceived to make the logo more accessible and represent the fact the monitor could reproduce images in color [126].
Good stuff Sac Blog! But now you got me onto to another one I never even considered about the second Apple logo.. that it symbolizes: “the separation of light”
Weird!
I like to keep you thinking Joe!
Here’s what I think… bunch of drunk dudes sitting around geeking out…. they see an apple on the table “Hey wouldn’t it be cool if we called it Apple! Totally simple and funny but everyone will wonder for years why we called it that!”
Or… in true geek fashion, it’s some D&D symbol
Drunk? Hmmm. What kind of drunk are you referring to? If alcohol, I tend to think not. I have met and worked alongside hundreds of programmers/developers/engineers in my career (on and off the clock), and I can’t think of a single successful one who was the type to get drunk… at least on alcohol.
Don’t get me wrong. I have met many “geeks” who drank incessantly…. but their liquid of choice always seems to be Red Bull, Jolt, Dew, and/or Coffee. And MAN can those folks drink!
I knew one database guy who made a TOWER of Coke cans in his cube. Within a month it had nearly reached the ceiling!
Joking aside, Steve Jobs admits to taking copious amounts of LSD on his spiritual journey to India to seek enlightenment after college. He came back from India with a shaved head and announced he was a Buddhist. Interesting to note Jobs step parents, Paul and Clara, gave him the full name Steven Paul. Steven was one of Christianity’s first martyrs; St. Paul of course, is one of the religion’s most celebrated leaders. I would think it’s at least POSSIBLE that Jobs rebelled in college and thereafter, especially if he had a strong Christian upbringing, especially considering..
Jobs biological parents’ names are Joanne Carole Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali, a Syrian gentleman of Arab-American descent with a doctorate in Political Science. So technically Jobs is half Arab-American, although that was not known until his biological sister, Mona Simpson, (the author born Mona Jindal .. “Because Steve Jobs was placed for adoption as a baby by their then-unmarried parents, she first met her sibling as an adult. She later took her stepfather’s surname, Simpson”).
Mona’s first novel was “Anywhere but Here,” the story of a turbulent mother-daughter relationship. Her next book was called “The Lost Father.”
Get this from Wikipedia: Mona Simpson is also a contributor to various anthologies and essay collections. She is the Sadie Samuelson Levy Professor in Languages and Literature at Bard College. She currently lives in Santa Monica, California with her husband Richard Appel and their two children. Appel, a writer for The Simpsons, used his wife’s name for Homer Simpson’s mother, beginning with the episode “Mother Simpson.”
Wow! And she married a dude with the last name Appel? WOW. So her name now is technically Mona Appel?
Anyway, I said the prism logo thing is “weird” because the Bible teaches the “separation of light” is precisely the goal of evil. It’s a euphemism for “Divide and Conquer.”
My brother is a professional geek who rarely leaves his basement and works from home in a different state. His drink of choice is Redbull and everclear. He’s very very tall so he can take a lot of it!
Maybe he named the company Apple in some sort of yet to be known mystical support of his sister’s husband?
Red Bull and Everclear? On the job? If so, I hope he is not working for me… LOL..
Um. of course not… never on the job… I’m sure… I’m sure it’s just redbull during the day… yeah that’s it!
OR does it depict the apple tree that Newton himself said inspired him to formulate his theory of gravitation…”by watching the fall of an apple from a tree…”? If the latter, why only one apple, and a glowing one at that?
Are they kidding? This is extremely far reaching. You ask why only one apple and a glowing one at that. My first thought would be – because Newton saw AN apple fall from the tree and glowing because their name and logo are APPLE not apples. They wanted it to stand out.
Seems pretty straightforward to me.
Seems reasonable to me, Gayle.
All I know is that I bought Apple at around $17 and still have it.
