Hey everyone, where are all those jobs?

Time 4 change? Sacramento Kings land fourth pick despite being worst team in league

Our Sacramento Kings were the worst team in the NBA this season. The worst. To put an exclamation mark on this pitiful–oh yeah, it was pitiful–feat, Team Dyn (as in Team Maloof Dynasty), swiftly booted the popular Kings personality, Jim Kosimore,  and canceled his painful  “House Party” show before the cadaver-of-a-season could even stiffen. Despite being the worst team in the NBA, the Kings suffered another blow tonight when it was announced they would not get the #1 pick Joe Maloof had been praying for.

I will echo something Simon Cowell said tonight on AI after hearing Kara’s horribly unmelodious song twice: “I’m not going to judge that song,” but I will say this: The Maloofs should consider selling the team because in my opinion no owner that truly cares about his/her franchise allows/lets/permits their club to TANK like the Kings have. If you owned–or ran–a franchise and it was your ultimate passion would YOU let YOUR club end up in last place with a roster of no names? Would Mark Cuban?  You may not like him, but one thing’s for sure: He’s passionate, and his team’s in the playoffs every year.

In my estimation,  the Kings owners have not focused on making this a winning basketball team. We needn’t look further than the overwhelming number of bad decisions they began making when their Vegas pursuits started heating up. The Kings are in the cellar because of the Maloofs’ lack of focus.  No other reason. Ok I know one of the brothers was out of commission for a while, but they have like a whole tribe of them that should have stepped in. I think they have more brothers than the Wayans and Baldwins combined don’t they?

“Sacramento should not be the capitol of California. Los Angeles should be. Los Angeles is the new capitol of California.” -Shaq, 2001

They dealt Peja and Hido. They fired Rick Adelman. They hired and fired two neophyte coaches in a row and dealt away one of the NBA’s best players and got zip in return for him. And for what? What do they have to show for these moves? The worst record in the NBA and a #4 pick on draft night. Granted, some legends have been made with the fourth pick, but what are the odds the Kings will land one with their track record? Long. Very long. Like the saga that has become this embarrassing team. In the spirit of one-lining Rodney Dangerfield: The Kings are so bad I’d rather watch them play on my son’s X-Box than on TV.

Really, Team Dyn, sell the team if you don’t want to hire the right people to run it for you. And speaking of running things, if anyone should be getting fired it is Geoff Petrie. He’s ripe. Don’t laugh, you would be too if you spent that many years  in The Sack with the Maloof mafia. I know someone who worked for them (honest, I do), and they said it was like working in Hells Kitchen.

Hey Maloofs: Do the fans, the franchise, the team, and Petrie a favor: CUT PETRIE LOOSE.

Time for some new leadership.

Time for some renewed commitment to winning ball games.

Otherwise .. what’s the point?
