Joe Sac radio appearance on the Capital Hour with Eric Hogue, today at 12:10pm on 1380 AM

eric hogueEric Hogue has graciously invited me to appear on his Capital Hour radio program at 12:10pm today. 1380 on your AM dial. While the radio station is conservative, I find Eric’s rugged, grass roots views refreshing, and think his voice is a very important part of the dialog that should be occurring between Republicans and Democrats for the common good in Sacramento.

Just yesterday the Bee quoted Eric as stating he felt Craig Macglashan should step down for the repugnant Obama images posted on the GOP site, calling them “sophomoric, childish, unprofessional and egregious.” That took guts. I respect that.  Eric seems to share my zeal for open and uninhibited dialog about elected officials, and I look forward to chatting with him. Please tune in if you get a chance.

  1. Very cool, Joe! I’ll be listening!

I caught Hogue’s comments in the Bee yesterday, and definitely felt the same respect for him on that. I was absolutely stunned by the tone of MacGlashan’s website. Sure, a 12-year-old might think that’s the height of political commentary, but a “party leader.” Aside from the public humiliation, I don’t think Craig’s going to be invited to too many cocktail parties in the future. Speaking of public humiliation…maybe we should consider bringing back the public stockades for people who pull such ridiculous stunts (and then blame them on an anonymous “volunteer”)? Way to cop to it, Mac.

  2. Woo-hoo! Great job, Joe! Loved your very accurate description of how a leader should be. Let’s just hope that KJ is going to get in there and do exactly that. Perhaps a special advisory position is in your future…

  3. Thank you 6 Degrees! :D That was fun and cathartic. I had so much more to say . There is so much I would change at our city hall. Oh well, baby steps. :) Thanks so much for listening.

  4. I really miss Hogue’s morning show. That was the best local radio program I can recall in Sacramento. I lost interest after he switched to his “Hour or Power” format in the afternoon, so it is nice to see him discussing more relevant topics again. The two of you must be two peas in a pod with your shared affection for our esteemed mayor!

  5. JOE!!! What do you think about the disgusting Fargo taking a pay cut? Last ditch effort to sway the vote of the truly ignorant?

  6. I have an interesting observation to make about her pay cut…. will be up later tonight…

  7. O M G. She is going to take a pay cut now! How pathetic!!

  8. Personally, I think the resignation of Mr. McGlashan does not go far enough. Central Committee terms are going to end in a couple of months. Voters elected new members in the June primary. New Central Committees will reconvene in January and will elected new Chairs, Vice-Chairs, etc. Mr. McGlashan was elected to serve a new 2 year term and will be sworn into office in January. He should do the honorable thing and not take the oath of office when the new Republican Central Committee takes office. Resigning now when you will be returning in just a couple of months is simply a hollow gesture. This guy is not going away. His wife, County Supervisor Roberta McGlashan is most likely going to run for the State Assembly when Roger Niello is termed out in 2010. His phony claim that he did not know who that volunteer was who did the web site is a bunch of BS. Every voting member of the Sacramento County Democratic Party knows who runs our web site. You can even e-mail most of the members because there are e-mail links. He knew who put that garbage on the web site, he just wants to make it seem like he knew nothing so in 2 years his wife can have a free ride for the State Assembly. News for you, Mr McGlashan, we will not forget!

  9. Rich, I agree with you 100%. I think Eric was calling for his permanent resignation. I know I am. I am sick and tired of these hateful attacks. I think both parties are guilty of it. I think both parties have bred some zealots here in Sacramento and they need to reel them in. I know you see it on the Bee’s comments too. There are a few people who need to be quelled, both conservative and liberal. We should not tolerate it. It’s hurtful and unacceptable. Attacking policies and principals and political behavior is patriotic, but making fun of people race or religion or sexual preference or anything of that nature is not cool. I call on all local Democrat and Republican to repudiate this bad behavior. It leads to intolerance and hate crimes. it is UGLY. The Bee should not allow those types of comments either. Rich we are the Capitol city. We should typify what cooperation and tolerance and solidarity is all about. We need people from both sides of the political fence to speak out and blast this repugnant behavior. Love ya, Rich. Have a great weekend. -Joe

  10. Joe that rocks that you were on the radio! Dude you have a great speaking voice and I hope someone gives you an opportunity for y7our won show. I would listen for sure. Keep it up for Sac Town!

  11. Thanks, Brian. I was admittedly a bit nervous. Hopefully next time I will be able to form a sentence! :P
