In what will undoubtedly be remembered by perceptive types as one of the slimiest political moves in the history of Sacramento politics, holdout councilperson Kevin “Forest Gump” McCarty (oh come on, I kid the McCarty!), FINALLY announced his “endorsement” of Heather Fargo on the steps of city hall today.
The Big Ooze, as we like to call him, dug deep into his bag of speech tricks and called proud Mama Fargo a “leader” (whiskey tango foxtrot?!), and told hapless onlookers and zooming cameras she was the right person to fight crime, and tend to Sacramento youth (Yes, now they are just flat out shamelessly stealing Kevin Johnson’s mayoral agenda. Pathetic. I know).
Several hours later the feds announced they were turning their St Hope investigation findings over to the US Attorney General.
Clearly we have a winner for “Weasel of the Year” award in McCarty. He was OBVIOUSLY waiting to hear what the feds found in their trumped up “St. Hope investigation” before he announced his “endorsement” of Fargo. Prior to that in guarded circles he was said to be “gushing” about Kevin Johnson. Clearly he had inside information before the public did about St Hope fed investigation. How sneaky. How utterly sneaky and underhanded. I have zero respect for McCarty’s decision to support the most incompetent, out of touch, naive, arrogant, self-serving mayor in the history of Sacramento.
And this whole St Hope investigation. Boo hoo CARES? No matter what they find, I guarantee you it will PALE in comparison to Fargo’s missteps, malfeasance, and malpractice as our “mayor” for the past eight years. You want to launch a REAL probe? The Feds should be probing what happened to $1.5 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF WATER METERS paid for with OUR money!!
Want a REAL probe? The Feds SHOULD be lugging boxes and boxes of records and computers and everything else out of Fargo’s office at this hour, because nearly every move she has made smacks of cronyism, conflict oif interest, and abuse of power. Remember: this is the CUCKOO politico who has a SACRAMENTO POLICE DETECTIVE CHAUFFERING HER BACK AND FORTH TO WORK EVERY DAY!
As I said in the Bee’s comments tonight:
NO ONE IS PERFECT. EVERY political candidate has at least several things in their past they regret. Duh. That is the nature of the imperfect human race.
But I’ll take St Hope’s missteps over Fargo’s missteps ANY day. Kevin Johnson did not make my city an unsafe place to live!! Kevin Johnson did not MOCK the federal government’s levee findings and cause me an extra $1300 a year in flood insurance!!! Kevin Johnson did not lose $1.5 million in water meters!! Kevin Johnson did not miss 122 days of work and 16 city council meetings and spend $45,000 in MY money to travel to every country in the known world to figure out fluorescent lightbulbs are more efficient than incandescent ones!! Kevin Johnson did not blame our crime problems on “immigrants”!! Kevin Johnson did not fill my neighborhood up with a kabillion square feet of low income housing and then run up a $58 million dollar deficit so there are no cops to respond to my 911 calls!!
Kevin Johnson did not RUN THIS CITY INTO THE GROUND!!
When are the feds going to investigate Fargo!? Does anyone even care!?

I don’t care what they find out about St Hope. You are so right in that nothing could even come close to how horrible Fargo has performed as our well paid mayor. Nothing, A convicted felon is more welcome in city hall than Fargo is in my opinion. And our coucil people supporting her.. they are gambling she will win. They will lose. They will lose just like they have lost everything in the salvage yard at the utilities department.
Prosecute all of them
Who cares who Kevin McCarty endorses? Isn’t this the same tool who came up with the unconstitutional ammo purchase invasion of privacy for Sacramento residents? He thinks he is some kind of Elliot Ness type figure. His record as a councilman is deplorable. He is an embarrassment to the city and should be recalled like the rest of them supporting Fargo. Conflict of interest big time!

I am about to run for the council. Obviously anyone with a 5th grade education is qualified, so I am qualified. And I want my corner office at city hall.
Hey FGC..in general you would be correct..the qualifications to run for elected office are very very low…the threshold is now so low that it has firmly debunked the theory that excellence rises to the top. (This assumes of course that we consider our elected officials to be in the upper strata of our society)
The only qualification that really matters is that you are supported by a special interest group/s that have the power to put you into office. This almost always means that you have been picked and groomed by either one of the two political parties, or you are supported financially by certain powerful Greek land developers.(in the City and County of Sacramento) Political parties of both persuasions pick candidates that have no independent thoughts OR critical thinking skills, obviously this goes the same with politicians owned by developers.
So if you fall into one of these two categories…your in like flint baby.
