I am pleased (and surprised) to announce this web site is now crushing all previous records with respect to web site hits per day. Readership is even higher than it was following the Sacramento Bee’s article blasting joesacramento.com as a Fargo “smear” site in May. With high search engine rankings, readers posting my articles to DIGG, Newsvine, Furl, CNN i-report, ABCnews.com, etc etc etc, and a growing number of high profile community leaders, media outlets, and government officials visiting the site daily (as witnessed in detailed stats I receive via email every day) , it appears as though I have succeeded in drawing attention to the many issues facing Sacramentans [specifically the city government's gross negligence with respect to public safety, broken commitments to residents, and discriminatory focus on select corridors of the city at the expense of its outlying neighborhoods that are plagued with high crime, unenforced code violations, and only minimum-monthly-payment type outreach to juvenile delinquents, many of whom have dropped out of school].
And it’s not like I’m some great writer or intellectual thinker. I have average writing skills at best, and God knows my pieces are often reactive and not too well thought out (which explains why they get revised several times). My IQ is a lowly ~138 (at best), and I didn’t even make it through college (but I sure have a lot of units!). I know a LOT of people in Sacramento, many who own businesses and have a lot of influence, but never once have I enlisted their help to spread the word about my site.
But one thing I am is creative and resourceful, and that has turned out to be a lethal combination in this web-enabled age we live in. With those two skills alone I have lifted this web site out of the gutter–where Marcos Breton said it was–and transformed it into a daily destination for thousands of Sacramento residents who either agree with what I am saying, or vehemently disagree with everything I say and just want to know what “the enemy” is up to.
Either way, isn’t it GRAND we live in a country where we can state our opinions and disagree with each other?? You’re not MAD at that are you? I don’t call YOU names, why should YOU call ME names? Why can’t we debate and argue for the good of the community? For the record, I did NOT start this site to draw attention to myself. If I had, I would have plastered <enter all my own self interests here> up for all the world to see–along with advertising links and banners to turn a profit.
Au contrare, I believe my collection of articles here clearly reflect my ONLY focus since day one has been to state my personal opinion (one I am fully entitled to and one you are fully entitled to IGNORE if you so choose) about lousy city officials, biased and hypocritical reporting on the part of local journalists, local and national topics of interest (such as the Kings v Lakers conspiracy), and general hypocrisy wherever it pops its head up. I recognize I make mistakes. I recognize I sometimes go a bit overboard. But that’s what happens when taxpayers become frustrated with government. So what. Don’t visit my web site if you don’t like me.
I thank everyone for their support. I am certain a lot of media outlets and officials would have a lot to say about my opinions, but their hands are tied because if they did so publicly, they would draw 50,000 hits to my web site in an instant–and that is precisely what they don’t want. I don’t envy them. Despite the few angry messages I have received, overall there is overwhelming support for my opinions and I appreciate it. I will continue to be the squeaky wheel and use my creativity and resourcefulness to cry foul whenever I believe it is necessary–all for the express purpose of IMPROVING the city and raising the BAR in terms of what this city is capable of becoming.
The truth hurts… and sometimes my articles do, too. I apologize if I have offended anyone at any point.

Joe, congrats! I recently moved to SacTown (and I love it by the way), and after a few first reads of your posts, I quickly subscribed. Keep it up!
Nico, many thanks for your support. Where did you move from?
