Happy anniversary Joe Sacramento

No, I’m not referring to my wedding anniversary (although my wife and I just celebrated our 15th!). :) Today marks rookie Joe Sac’s one month anniversary as a Sacramento blogger. I know, I know yaaaawn.

Hey, a lot has happened since May 13, 2008, the day I received a union flyer in my mailbox assassinating Kevin Johnson’s character and suggesting he was unfit to be the mayor of Sacramento on the strength of uncorroborated allegations from 13 years ago.

What started as an spirited online response to that hit campaign (which resulted in as many hits as candidates got votes, for the record), and a rebuttal to the ridiculous articles being published in the local rag, has transitioned into a relatively popular blog covering a wide range of local and national issues. I have to admit I have had a good time with it so far, despite the sporadic email threats, and pro bono nature of it all. I also would be remiss if I didn’t thank Marcos Breton of the Sacramento Bee for awakening Sacramento to this web site, even though he incorrectly called my opinion site a “smear” site (but hey, we got great t-shirts )

I will keep on rooting for the underdog and challenging ‘conventional wisdom’ as long as you will allow. And even if you lose interest, I will probably still keep writing and posting my art work because my Mom and Dad come here faithfully each morning and read everything I post… and if they end up being my only audience, that’s good enough for me.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone from coast to coast who has supported me so far. I am humbed and honored to have your attention for even a few minutes a day. I am blown away by the number of people visiting each day (not to mention the referring URL’s!), and will do my best for you to keep it as thought-provoking as possible.

PS: Please click the TOP25 link at top right whenever you visit my site

Sincerely,

Joe

  1. I found this blog a little late, but I love it! Keep up the good work.

  2. Congratulations, and keep up the fight! There is always a need for someone to speak up when things get out of hand and who better than you who puts things so eloquently, you watch dog, you!

  3. Go Joe! You’re a breath of fresh air in a city full of wind bags.
